In Australia the average salary for PM and BA roles was $131,000 and for New Zealand it was $109,000.

Change Managers had the highest average salary in AU earning $178,000 AUD. Project Directors were highest earning in NZ with $146,000 NZD. Scrum masters were also in the highest earning roles in both territories with $157,000 AUD in AU and $131,000 NZD in NZ.

Salary trend

The roles with the highest demand were Project Manager with 4,591 job listings; Business Analyst with 3,837; and Programme Director/Manager/Project Director with 1,489. 

Demand by role

The top companies hiring for project management roles were APS with 285; Queensland Government with 249 job listings; and Victorian Government with 145. 

As organisations increasingly prioritise project efficiency, the demand for skilled project managers and business analysts is expected to rise, creating exciting career advancement opportunities in this dynamic sector.

More promotions for certified professionals (Access Perks)

Opportunities were concentrated in populous Australian states with demand across other regions in both countries. New South Wales (3,118) and Victoria (2,306), Australia, had the highest number of project management job postings. In New Zealand, there were 808 unspecified regional postings.
